Several companies opened their doors to take a look ‘behind the scenes’. Main reason is to inform students and the public about the maritime industry and the career possibilities this industry offers.

 

On October 1, the European opening conference took place in Brussels and was a big success. During the conference, a number of youngsters (including Wärtsilä colleagues) presented themselves, their work position with the maritime industry, their choice to start working in this business and the perspectives. They were also part of a forum and therefore participated in discussions with the vice-chairman of the European Union.

 

The Dutch opening in Rotterdam on October 5, by Assistant Secretary Van Bijsterveld, was also very successful. Wärtsilä was one of the main sponsors and presented itself with a stand at the business market and six information pillars showing www.designafish.com.
